As another favorite teen comedy once said, “Hell is a teenage girl.” This film has been compared to nearly every other iconic teen movie & for good reason as it outright references them but it’s so much more than a clever arrangement or nostalgic touchstones. Clever, fast paced, fun & surprisingly full of heart. This film makes great use of nostalgia while firmly standing out on its own merits. There are few tropes I love more than tumultuous teen friendships between two utterly unhinged but relentlessly likable girls.
