Love Luc but boy is every performance flat. I forgot that I watched half of this and can’t bring myself to finish it. It’s been a while since there were two leads as in charismatic as this. Don’t know if it was the performances, the direction or the editing but it often feels like everyone is engaged in parallel play, reading lines and performing actions independent of anyone else on the screen.

The visual direction is stunning, especially when compared to the current MCU-dominant aesthetic.

Liked a lot of it. The action was supremely cogent considering the underlying mechanics. Zendaya and Holland’s awkwardness turns me back into a nervous 17 year old boy. (Hell, I’m still that awk)

Mysterio needed 2-3 more scenes of character development but I’m not entirely sure how a screenwriter would have responsibly fit them inside this story structure. Jake was fantastic.

Fun. Also Jon Faverau is just wonderful.

What a performance and honestly, this is making me re-evaluate M Nights entire catalog. (I’m a Lady in the Water apologist)

Oh the tracking shots. The aircraft and practical effects porn is real.

That 70s tone feels a bit dated.

Haven't seen the Hulu series yet but the whole time I was thinking about how this would be better with a bit more runtime. Here's hoping the cast can overcome the Hulu legacy.

Worth watching for the pageantry. Also Milo is always arresting.
