Um, alright then
I get what Gaspar Noé is going for but it just didn't really work for me. I appreciate some of the main character's inner dialogue, but that's the only real positive I have to say. The acting ranges from good to almost laughably bad. The music is quite terrible: it ranges from generic to absolutely grating.
This is basically an all around worse version of Shortbus. Both films use sex to demonstrate deeper human emotion, but Shortbus actually has a main story that I can describe and characters I can at least somewhat care about.
I'm intentionally putting off Enter the Void until I'm more familiar with Gaspar's filmography. I understand it's highly regarded and is possibly his best: I'll see it in due time.
