Juan Ramirez’s review published on Letterboxd:
A deliciously icy Isabelle Huppert playing a modern-day Scarlett O'Hara who stubbornly refuses to give up "her land" while everything around her goes to hell? Yes please. The great thing about White Material is that director Claire Denis never feels the need to preach about the "evils" of post-colonialism and white privilege. She's simply interested in telling the compelling story of how one woman unintentionally destroys her entire family via her delusions of grandeur.
