JuanCostrada’s review published on Letterboxd:
Ridley Scott presents a children’s fantasy film with wonderful art direction and practical effects, that lacks the required fun and seems strangely generic.
The acting all seems a little serious and with a lack of introduction into the world of the film, it is hard to know what is at stake. There seems to be editing issues with one of the core goblins seemingly disappearing from the story and Mia suddenly turning up at the fortress.
This all culminates with one of the most evil looking monsters core motivation becoming a love for Mia.
The Reverence: The use of a pan as a defensive weapon beats out the return of Scott’s unicorn fetish and the beauty of Mia.
