The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty ★★★★

Ben Stiller in his element. Lackluster narrative? Awkward writing? Oh please, this is coming from the same person who directed Zoolander and The Cable Guy. He could've added whatever he wanted to make his feature commercially, erm, interesting. Yeah. But that wasn't the point. In fact, he practically screams the point in your face.. "Look at how simple living can be! Look at what it's like to see behind walls! Draw closer! To find each other and to feel!"

Even the most jarring 'dream sequences' here are completely forgivable in light of the film's beautiful ambience and dedication to it's photographic roots. Don't expect any kind of perfection from Walter Mitty, but expect to feel comfortable and welcome. It's a personal favorite of mine.

Also Walter reminds me of my dad. He likes the movie too.
