"You should cut that mullet, it's been almost 30 years" - Eddie,
You know if I had a fever and the only prescription was more Bill Skarsgard in clown makeup, I would have only BARELY survived.
All considered, I would say that this is a clear step down from part 1 but still highly entertaining and visually exciting. The casting is perfect as each of the adult actors really feels like an evolved version of their child counterparts. The first act is good, the second act is great, and the third act kind of suffers. I don't think this needed to be nearly 3 hours and would have been fine at 2 hours and 20 minutes. With horror, the mystique starts to fade after 90 minutes which made the finale make me feel like "I get it, the clown's creepy, just fuck it up and roll credits" but that might be just me.
Go see it, just don't expect a masterpiece.
