  • Black Devil Doll from Hell

    Black Devil Doll from Hell

"How'd you like that?" - The Doll

Not very much! I think I maybe was meaning to watch another Black Devil Doll from Hell? There's no real reason to watch this but I've seen worse.

    - Daily Horror Hunt #6: ( )-Day 30: Shot on Video

  • Stagecoach

"What this country needs is a businessman for President" -Ellsworth,

    -Scavenger Hunt #45:
Clue 17. Watch a film that was released in the year the last two digits of which is your current age (1939) (SCAVENGER HUNT COMPLETE)

This movie has a real fucking wolf in it...howling. That's great.

In Stageoach, a motley group of nine with a variety of associations end up on a stagecoach on a dangerous trip facing imminent Apache attack. The crew includes: The dumb…

  • Ashes of Time

    Ashes of Time

"A drunk man's words can't be taken seriously,"

    -Scavenger Hunt 45:
Clue 1. Watch a Wong Kar-wai film (29/30 tasks complete)

This movie is so much better than Mortal Kombat!

This is my first Wong Kar-wai film and I'm I just have to find all of his other films. Over the five seasons of the Chinese almanac, and taking place in the world of Martial Arts, Ashes of Time is a twisty fantasy martial arts drama that I…

  • The Pagemaster

    The Pagemaster

    "Even books have spines" -Adventure,

When Adventure is mean to Horror I get soooooo sad.

I feel like we don't really make movies about the beauty of imagination any more. Do we? Am I just being old and stupid? Are there movies since 2000 that are in theaters that are just straight up imagination is wonderful, reading is wonderful? Let me know if you have ones.

In the Pagemaster, Culkin is an awkward kid who goes into a library to…

    Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

"I see this spark in you. It's amazing. What ever you choose to do with it, you'll be great." -Jefferson,

    -2018 Ranked:

This is my second watch and it really is an amazing movie. Watched in 3D this time and I highly suggest it, as it seems that much of the animation was designed for this exact purpose. I don't really think there are wrong decisions made in this film. Anything I say would be nitpicking. This is an animated superhero film that I would show to kids, my friends, or my grandparents (if they were alive). Watch it!

  • A Hard Day's Night

    A Hard Day's Night

"Sorry we hurt your field mister" - George,

    -Scavenger Hunt #45:
    Clue 2. Watch a film about a musician/band (28/30 Clues Found)

Based on this film, I think I would've been a Ringo gal.

I love scavenger hunts because I've wanted to watch this movie for twenty-five years and finally did. For context, I'm just a casual Beatles fan who is mostly interested in this film for it's impact on fandom, documentary, and the framing of pop acts. With…

  • Leprechaun Returns

    Leprechaun Returns

"We can't just google 'how to kill a Leprechaun'" -Lila

    - Leprechaun Rankings:
    - 2018 Rankings:

I love the Leprechaun franchise and I'm totally happy with this reboot.

In Leprechaun Returns, a group of sorority sisters awaken the Leprechaun. The sorority sister angle is not played as exploitation, more like a Black Christmas vibe (attempt) with a real diversity of characters and types that each have some sort of arc in the film.

    Give this movie at least…

  • The Lift

    The Lift

    "But that's my lift!" -Felix

    - Daily Horror Hunt #6:
Day Twenty-Nine: 29. A movie with a killer elevator (either possessed or just kills someone, doesn’t have to be the main plot)

Finally a movie that celebrates elevator repair men and the chaos that they protect us from. The Lift is the most dramatic film ever made about an elevator and that's part of the problem for me. I kind of liked all of the elevator horror stuff, I…

  • Chicken Run

    Chicken Run

"I saw my whole life flash before my eyes! It was boring!" -Babs,

    -Scavenger Hunt #45:
Clue 14. Watch a film about prison or breaking out of prison (27 out of 30 clues completed)

I don't recommend the extended cut because the part where Mel Gibson goes off on Jewish chickens is super awkward. Other than that, this film is still pretty solid but nowhere near as good as the Wallace and Gromit stuff. Family friendly and fine. Older people will enjoy the multiple references to earlier prison films.

  • March of the Penguins

    March of the Penguins

"Now, their bellies is time to find a mate," -Morgan Freeman,

    -Scavenger Hunt #45 (Dec. 18):
Clue 9. Watch a documentary narrated or partially narrated by a celebrity you like (Morgan Freeman...this is a difficult clue)

Hey, want to watch a bunch of penguins die? Do I have the movie for you. It's a snuff film called March of the Penguins.

March of the Penguins shows the inspiring and fascinating march penguins engage in each year to reproduce.…

WARNING: This review totally hurt the feelings of three bros in Minnesota. The pain was so bad that one of them had to leave Letterbox'd entirely because of this review. Proceed with caution.

    - Scavenger Hunt #45:
Clue (10) Watch a film recommended to you by someone important that you never got around to watching

The things I do for Jason Mantzoukas (co-host of how did this get made).

I have nothing really mean to say about the House it just isn't very good. I don't need a script to be flawless but I need it to be workable…
