Julian Sol Jordan’s review published on Letterboxd:
Instant favorite as soon as the credits started rolling. This film just rules on many levels. I love it so much, and what made it even better is how closely I relate to the setting of the whole film as I’m currently in high school and living in Texas as well. There are always “those” nights that you have (especially as a teenager) that tend to mean something super special to you in one way or another, but you're just never able to express the reason why. That’s totally how I perceived this one. There’s just something really special about it and it’s encapsulated beautifully.
Like I said before, I’m slowly finishing up my Linklater marathon one by one. I might have to rewatch Boyhood one more time, but as of right now this is my favorite film of his. Looking forward to checking out The Before Trilogy on The Criterion Channel this April.
