  Scream VI utilizes its NYC setting with both claustrophobic & sprawling apartment set pieces, bodegas, & subways for some ruthless scares. Ghostface looks & feels more menacing than the past. Diehards of Scream 2 should appreciate Act 3. With that said, I’m slightly underwhelmed at the killer(s) reveal due to lack of time spent with said killer(s)

  The classic fuck-around-and-find-out possession movie with contemporary teens that feels earnest. Well-made first feature by the Philippou bros but a tad too familiar and predictable. I do wish they would’ve withheld the scares more to have made a greater impact. Need another viewing to see if I LOVE it— I’m not there yet, if ever.
