The Lady Vanishes ★★★½

A corny, charming, contrived, old-fashioned train mystery.  Probably ambitious for its day but now all of the set ups are so obvious it’s hard to appreciate what it was. Nineteen thirty-eight was 80 years ago and the jokes are well passed their due date. I did love the charm of the film and the chemistry between Michael Redgrave and Margaret Lockwood.  

The opening with the model train set was adorable in a gee isn’t this cute they used models back then kind of way...
