    “Okay? …….Okay.” Precisely the sort of cop-killing bonanza I needed this week. A brutal depiction of the violent insularity of militantly policed life in stifling New York buildings, affecting all and protecting nor regarding none. Besson pulls no punches despite all his stylization. However, this is no mere dressed up gut punch for the sake of gut-punching. Rather, the punches are ferociously directed upward and onward, channeled through the brazen folly and hopeful vitality of youth. I’m sure this made quite the splash in the early 90’s. Simply excellent. Indeed, no one, regardless of their motivations or ideology, works alone.
