While it may not be as out there as his work from the 70s to the mid-80s, De Palma at his most mainstream is still a solid filmmaker. The kind who manages to craft the climactic sequence as an homage to Battleship Potemkin.
Can't get enough of De Niro as Al Capone and Sean Connery is truly great as well. Of course all of this wouldn't be the same without the late Morricone's beautiful score.
