Yikes! 20 minutes in I was ready to walk out on this one. It isn’t terrible. The production value is solid. Demian Bichir and Taissa Farmiga are both good and they certainly don't phone it in. The problem is the slow pace and story. It's down right boring. I never felt any sense of dread. I was never interested in the origin of The Nun - who is in her own movie for about two minutes, and that's no exaggeration. God bless the rumbling from the Dolby speakers for keeping me awake.
The cast is great. Affleck is a fantastic Batman. I even liked Cavill this time around. Gadot almost steals the movie. The first half is a tad choppy but the imagery is amazing and the set up is intriguing. The score is very effective. I know the tone of this Superman is super serious but I wasn't expecting such a dark turn -- it moslty works. It honestly feels like an R-Rated movie. The second half is even more rough…
