One of those total happy accidents that can always happen at TIFF: I got shut out of a screening for The Florida Project and was scrambling for something to see. This just happened to be starting a few minutes after TFP and was short enough that it didn't interfere with the rest of my screening schedule. And wow, I'm happy I went in.
It's basically what it would be like if Malick made a coming-of-age film set inside a totally twisted religious cult. Fantastic performance from the film's lead, played by newcomer Sara Caballero.
