  Back in the day, friends hyped this up to me as the goofiest, most hilariously badly made horror movies they’d ever seen. And while it is cheesy, there’s way, way worse out there.

  At the same time, the main characters, their motivations and their conflicts are more interesting and complex than probably 99% of comparable movies.
