okay but seeing brad pitt being high made my week!
this was actually one of my very first tarantino movies but i had such a good time! seeing los angeles in a movie again, so shortly i was there myself was truly special, because i recognized so many locations and it really transported me back to experiencing the city of show business. also the 60s were such an interesting period of movie making, so seeing it recreated for the big screen and letting leonardo di caprio star in spaghetti western was such a great call back to the golden era of hollywood! quentin tarantino is so good at carrying the audience back to the past - the music, the costumes, the cinematography, everything was on point!!!
the only thing that brought me a bit out of the experience was the story. 3/4 of the plot was pointless. i don't mean that in a bad way, i enjoyed every minute of this movie, but most scenes didn't add something important to the plot and in the end i do prefer tight scripts where every single frame has a purpose to the overall story.
but the longer i think about "once upon a time in hollywood" the more i like it and the better it gets. i think a rewatch would even ad 1/2 stars for me!
