Secret Ceremony 1968
For those who know me here know I enjoy my late Elizabeth Taylor films. She seemed to play these lonely and flawed characters quite well.
“Secret Ceremony” is a dark film with damaged characters. Taylor and Mia Farrow’s character’s are women experiencing loss and complicated grief. It’s almost like they are made for one another. Timing is everything and often the universe will lead people to one another.

The Haunting of Julia 1977
Dreary, drizzly, drab, grey, and bleak- a bit of beauty you can find in the macabre, eh? A Creepy little naughty blonde girl. Toy clowns wearing an infinite sinister smile. Room heaters switching on and off. Countless mysterious accidents. Many cups of tea and coffee along with investigative conversations. A seance to help answer some questions. Mia Farrow’s character depicting such complicated grief and spiraling out of control….
Colin Town’s score is sublime. It marries beautifully with each frame. It’s disappointing I cannot find this soundtrack anywhere. 😒 I can see this becoming my next comfort film!

Rats: Night of Terror 1984
“I’m gonna warm their whiskers.” 🐀 That’s what a dude decides to say when he torches a rat? 😂
Rats: Night of Terror is about a gang of people during post apocalyptic times.
A real peeve of mine is not paying attention to details when making a film. What annoyed me most is- these people ALL HAVE new clothing. 😂🙄How do you have new clothing during a time like this?? Anyhooo- it’s the year 2015, (doesn’t look like the year 2015-… -
Last Shift 2014
Last Shift definitely knows what it’s doing. It has a great storyline and builds upon it’s character. There are some awesome jump scares, frightening scenes, and unpredictable twists. The film definitely kept me invested. It has a satisfying ending that I didn’t see coming. This is my second DeBlasi film, and I have to admit, I’m pretty pleased with his work. If you’re looking for a good simple storyline, that will deliver some decent scares- this is it. Nothing too fancy. It’s good work.
