J.V. Jowett’s review published on Letterboxd:
What an odd little film, neither engrossing nor exactly hilarious, Jabberwocky manages to entertain you nonetheless. There's just something about the grimy, slimey, shit covered middle ages that Gilliam can make so utterly watchable. I wasn't completely sold on the film until it's climatic battle, which felt like Dragonslayer on a LARPer's budget. It does have decently funny moments that should be recognized, but no gutbusters. The type of film that would be slathered in whimsey and indie vapidness in this day & age. Jabberwocky remains respectable given its place in film history.
