JWer’s review published on Letterboxd:
I feel this is a strange turn for Ritchie. A much darker tone, with darker humor and fewer curse words. He still manages to work in the "Cunt" though. This not a critique, but instead an observation of what could possibly be quite the character turn for the director.
The action is intense, the plot is tightly paced, well layered, and the writing is much more reserved compared to his most recent venture, The Gentleman. If it did not tell you at the beginning of the film, I would not have guessed this was a Ritchie picture.
Statham is a force and reminds us why he is one of the best action stars working today. He really knows how to put the fear of God into you. One of my favorites of the year for sure. Just a great time.
