This is a personal interest of mine in Asian cinema, but it's a particular kind of film I am about to describe (though the list of films speaks for itself).
- Films that are directed by Asian filmmakers (not necessarily Asian productions) that are set outside of Asia.
- The films cannot be made by Asian-American directors like Wayne Wang.
- Feature a prominent Asian character.
- These films usually deal with themes of globalization as in Comrades: Almost A Love Story or emigration as with the films of Mabel Cheung and Clara Law.
If you have any recommendations for films that fit here, please let me know!
