90 minutes of perfection followed by 45 minutes of taking it too damn far. Oh, and one award show scene that was totally over the top and un-neccessary. Outstanding music though and superb performances by Gaga, Cooper and Sam Elliott.
It wasn't perfect but it was. It had a few flaws but I wouldn't change a thing. It felt like an old friend you haven't seen in thirty years came back into town and you start right in like they never left. It was everything I hoped it would be.
It's an enjoyable bit of fluff is you are able to check your brain at the door and put up with the schmaltz. Decent performances all around and a story that manages to be preachy and goofy at the same time. Still, not a waste of time.
