A NEW RECORD! SEVEN MOVIES IN ONE DAY, BABY!

Since I was a kid, I've always loved Don Hertzfeldt's short film, Rejected ("My spoon is too big..."), and I remember watching this with fascination around when it came out. I didn't think much of it after that, and certainly didn't expect anyone to even know of it, but I was delightfully surprised to see that this is in the Top 100 rated Letterboxd movies. Keita Amemiya is capable of turning daydreams into moving images. The action-packed spectacles going through your head when you play with your toys are able to come to life in his hands. Dumb fun. The premise is pretty inherently interesting. The thieves' antics reminded me of Joseph Joestar. I feel like a lot of their "magic" would have been more impressive if they used real slight-of-hand tricks on camera. Some of the CGI magic is too unbelievable to suspend our disbelief for, like turning a rabbit into a hat, or having ribbons fly around telekinetically, or turning your entire body into money. The supposed criminals in this movie are awesome. Is stealing…
