Jojo Rabbit

Jojo Rabbit ★★★★½

While many of my friends here on Letterboxd have used their quarantine to start knocking films off of their watch list, I have been oddly quiet. The reason being is that after years of being a huge gamer, I finally built a really nice gaming PC!! Along with film, competitive gaming has always been a passion of mine dating back to the days where I would travel the country for Halo tournaments. As I got older I gamed less and never made the switch to PC, but the past few years I have really gotten back into it and am absolutely loving the switch from controller to keyboard and mouse.

It is only right that I ended my film hiatus with one of my absolute favorite's from last year, Jojo Rabbit. I watched this with my parents who had not seen it yet, and they absolutely LOVED it! We laughed, we cried, and laughed some more.

My favorite part of this rewatch was just enjoying how strong of performances were turned in by the entire cast. The child actors, most notably Roman Griffin Davis in the lead role, were just a joy to watch. Scarlett Johansson is my favorite actor in the world so it is always a pleasure to watch her work, and I have so much fun with Sam Rockwell's character in this!

Taika Waititi is truly a master of his craft and this film is just another example of why. This will be one of those movies that I watch at least once a year and I will be so excited going back to it time and time again.
