A horse looked at the sky with hope of escape

An amazing experimental short film. It’s really soothing to watch, it just for some reason dragged me in with it’s unique style. The narration challenged me to think and overall after the film I felt somewhat baffled and inspired. Even though it was a really calm 19 minutes, I got so immersed that I snapped back to reality and got confused when it ended. That’s how well it worked for me. This is a great film for everyone who are friends with experimental cinema.

  • Where Blood Lies

    Where Blood Lies

This was so well made and it had some of the best cinematography I have ever seen in a short film. As a proof of concept this works perfectly and I would like to see more. Usually this type of genre is not my cup of tea but this was so well made that I would definitely watch the limited series the filmmaker made this for. Great job!

  • This House Has People in It

This House Has People in It

This was amazing. It was shot and edited so well, it really looked like security camera footage and so realistic that it felt so creepy to watch it, as we would be actually spying on them. The writing was perfect, and the ending was so haunting and upsetting. I loved this short so much and I can’t wait to see what else the director has done/will do.

  • Slaughterbots

This was amazingly intense and frightening. I would love to see a feature of this. The information bit at the end about this sadly being a real opportunity today was also awakening and scary. A great thought provoking sci-fi thriller definitely worth a watch.

  • Star Wars: The Lost Patrol

    Star Wars: The Lost Patrol

A great 10 minutes of excellent visual effects and entertaining space fighting. Well worth a watch.

  • The Old Republic: Rescue Mission

    The Old Republic: Rescue Mission

This is one of my favourite fan shorts. Mando’s actually speaking Mandalorian, + great action and VFX. The acting could have been a little better but afterall this is a fan short film, so that taken into consideration this is so good. I especially loved how graphic it was - usually Star Wars does not show blood or anything, but the neck crack, headshots and decapitations sounded so nasty and realistic. It was so great, definitely give this a watch!

  • TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story

    TK-436: A Stormtrooper Story

I loved how we finally saw a fan film and a story from the point of view of a stormtrooper. It clearly showed how he gives his all to the Empire and is completely sucked in their propaganda and point of views. Even his rebel-turned love of his life could not turn his dream around. Her death just set him free, so he can be a complete stormtrooper. The helmet is is head and the armor is his skin, as…

  • Rebel Scum

    Rebel Scum

This was a fairly decent film. The plot itself was quite boring in my opinion, but for a short film it worked really well. I also had no problem with the stop motion CGI, even though it was a bit funny it had a certain charm and feeling to it. The runtime just felt a bit long for it, in my opinion it could have been a bit more intense. The thing that annoyed me the most was the color…

  • Remnants of the Order: A Star Wars Fan Film

Remnants of the Order: A Star Wars Fan Film

A very good fan film. There were a few things here and there I didn’t quite get, but overall this was very entertaining. It was fun to see a character who was born into the propaganda and actually blindly believed in it. Amazing job with the VFX too, this is seriously a lot better than the craptastic Disney films.

  • Darth Maul: Apprentice

    Darth Maul: Apprentice

I loved this so much. It works well as a Star Wars story too even if it is quite simple for a fan film, but that isn’t the main thing for me. Darth Maul is such a cool character and seeing his training complete after the last task was amazing, but the real thing in this film is the martial arts. As a huge martial arts lover the choreographies and athleticism in this short was OUTSTANDING. The lead actor was…

  • Han Solo: A Smuggler's Trade - A Star Wars Fan Film

Han Solo: A Smuggler's Trade - A Star Wars Fan Film

A very well made fan film of Han Solo. There were a few things here and there in the VFX and overall that weren’t quite on par with the rest of the film but I’ll let it pass because I had such a great time while watching this. The actor looks just like young Harrison Ford and the music and scenery is amazing! It was a really fun short film.

I watched this right after Disney’s ”Solo: A Star Wars Story” and I was quite disappointed with it. I’m glad to say that I hold this as a much better and enjoyable film. Amazing job!

    Film Study

Something about this was just so intriguing. It just felt so nice and in a way therapeutic to watch it. The movements and shapes were all so beautiful and satisfying. It was quite hypnotic and relaxing to watch even though there were floating eyeballs lol. But the craziest thing is that this was made in the 1920s. It is what the name says, he must have been experiencing with film and visuality and created something strange and unique with editing it the way he did it. This felt similar to watching modern art paintings and figuring our what is so exciting about them. Very beautiful.
