This should have gotten multiple Oscar nominations. There were not many films with better acting and writing last year.
This film is important, smart, stylish and entertaining all at once. Daveed Diggs is absolutely incredible in the lead role, with his character facing the ever-so-fascinating battle between the social environment where he grew up and what his brain is telling him to be. He is a victim of his circumstances.
Rafael Casal is also brilliant as the best friend. The whole thing is really impressive, especially considering how inexperienced most people involved really are.
