This is the most Michael Bay movie ever as it showcases everything the director does well and everything he doesn’t do well. The comedy falls flat often, the characters aren’t memorable, and the story is overly simplistic. The action is engaging and visceral and the entire movie looks really nice with sweeping establishing shots and kinetic stunt sequences. It’s a big dumb loud action movie which is exactly what this director has become known for and Netflix was more than…
An absolute masterpiece of filmmaking. This is the greatest achievement by director Sam Mendes and cinematographer Roger Deakins. It is a completely unique, singular, and focused experience unlike any other. The cast is superb, the production design magnificent, the score is fantastic, and the visual effects seamless. It’s the best film of the year, one of the best of the decade, and among the greatest the genre has ever produced as it showcases both the heroism and horrors of war in the midst of an intense and emotional race against time.
This is such a great movie. Ridley Scott does a brilliant job directing the very talented cast. The cinematography is wonderful as it helps tell the story through gorgeous visuals. It’s also extremely well written, edited, scored, and has a great soundtrack. Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon are phenomenal in the title roles as they make us care about them, see their relationship develop, and watch them transform throughout the course of the film. It’s such a well made and unforgettable movie on both technical and emotional levels.
