Zombi Child

One of the best films of the year, not quite the shocker after Bonello has consistently delivered with his recent work. I'm pretty surprised how well he got his facts straight about wudu and engages with it in a way that does not always feel reductive or exploitative but deeply fascinated and respectful in equal manner. Most importantly, it recontextualizes the western "mythos" around it into both culture and history, showing it's contemporary importance as postcolonialist defense mechanism.
