Kane Bumpers’s review published on Letterboxd:
I guess I would say this beat my expectations, because I thought it kinda looked like a total mess, even if there would be good things about it. It still was a bit of a mess, but the editing wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, most of the actors were fun, and the story was mostly charming. Not the biggest Adam McKay fan as a director even if I've only seen The Other Guys and Step Brothers, the latter of which I found really enjoyable. His direction is just really inconsistent for me and misses a lot of the needed groundedness and heart. Still a solid movie.
