Pros: It's an astonishing example of a singular vision. There's no concessions made, it's like the director's mind is spewing forth onto the screen and it's accompanied by some very strong visuals, frames that are drenched in colour and reminiscent of rock/metal album covers or fantasy novels and that's all backed up by a fantastic soundtrack that matches the visuals and onscreen insanity perfectly. Kudos also on the casting of Nic Cage who is one of the few actors I…

A thoroughly entertaining adventure that captures young Solo, Lando and Chewbacca very well. Those three characters and the portrayals all really shine and the story highlighting their first meetings is exciting and moves along at a good pace. The secondary characters are mostly good as well with Woody Harrelson given the best part and doing a great job with it. Others like Thandie Newton aren't in it enough while Emilia Clarke's character feels underdeveloped considering the role she's meant to play. She also has some unfortunate exposition heavy dialogue on a couple of occasions.

It's never a good sign when you find yourself saying "I hope that's the end" but I did (and it was) and I was glad when it was over. I…

This Thai film tells the story of a high school exam cheating ring in a heist movie format. This includes snappy breakdowns of the plans followed by the actual exams where of course things go wrong and the plan needs to evolve on the fly. It's a simple idea brilliantly executed with a great cast really selling the characters which cover a range of different backgrounds and privilege which is then used to introduce subplots and character growth. The final…
