I love movies from the 1930s and 1940s. I adore snappy dialogue and playful banter from any era, any genre.

It started out well and then things were adjusted due to Jean Harlow's death. There were strong performances by Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Hattie McDaniels, and Una Merkel. I've always been on the fence about Walter Pidgeon. I'm not sure if he was the right actor for his role. It was interesting to see a scene with Frank Morgan and Margaret Hamilton knowing within 2 years they both would be playing iconic roles in The Wizard of Oz.

Wallace Beery and Clark Gable were great opposite each other. I really enjoyed the various flight scenes.

Now I understand the whole Clara Bow "It" thing. She really WAS all that.

This was the last horror film that featured both Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. The story was disturbing but when you realize this was closer to reality than not...shiver.

Karloff was the standout as a graverobber. Russell Wade was cute so I will be looking for more of his films! 😉
