    At first glance, The Host comes across as an endearing tale of a lower class family's struggle against oppressive forces- both in the form of government and a literal sea monster. Through trial and tribulation, the Park family defies odds in an attempt to rescue their youngest kin. At this level, I thoroughly enjoyed the film.
