a safe space for the insane
oh this might be one of the best coming-of-age film i have ever watched. i could feel her pure rage through the screen, it’s so tragic and sickening. very dark and punk with such a strong message that you don’t even realize till it reaches the end. and neil young on the soundtrack was the cherry on top. i’m gonna be thinking about this for awhile..

the amount of rage i felt for her. when she cried and screamed in private because she felt like it was a sin to feel, that was so real. religious trauma is something so difficult to tackle, and Laurel Parmet did an incredible job. but not only that, she brought a new perspective on grooming relationships. i still think the screenwriting needs some work, but god im in love with the ending scene of him dancing to murder on the dance floor. as i keep projecting this movie, i keep rewatching the ending scene and i just don’t get tired of it. its just so good i even bumped it up half a star lol. also i love farleigh. i don’t know why i do, but i’m not…
