I hated Hayao Miyazaki for years. Now I'm not even sure why.
Totoro is possibly the warmest and most ridiculously funny anime of all time. It reminds of hot, summer days when you were a kid, running around outside, without any reason whatsoever, enjoying the oh-so-magnificent world full of adventures yet to unfold.
Paprika can easily join the cyberpunk classics club alongside with Ghost in the Shell and Serial Experiments Lain. At first the movie is confusing and hard to digest but it becomes more and more intriguing every second as facts are unveiled.
It draws immediate and obvious correlation to Nolan's broadly appreciated masterpiece - 'Inception'. The idea of dreams was well exploited in cinematography yet Paprika is visually stunning and thought provoking piece definitely worth watching even not only for anime lovers.
