I feel very conflicted about Tenet. On the one hand, I found it an enjoyable experience (in general, it felt good to be back in the theatre again). I also really appreciated the complexity and sheer ambition of its concept, which resulted in some awe-inspiring action set pieces. On the other hand, though, this might be the least narratively compelling film I've seen from Christopher Nolan thus far. Even with its strong performances, I found it pretty difficult to invest in any of the characters. The lack of a real emotional core also left me feeling a bit detached from much of what was happening on the screen, and at times it could feel like a total slog, especially when the film starts piling you with exposition.
