I was hoping that sitting through 3 hours of intricate story telling would see me rewarded with a big twist/epiphany/gotcha! moment. 

No such moment arises.

What a movie!!! Such a captivating story. Loved it. The songs were great. Made me wanna go read Exodus which not many films can ever claim doing.

Tbh, I don’t hate it. But the fall of Anakin isn’t as devastating as it could be because we don’t like him as a character and we don’t believe in his and Padme’s love. I’m looking for a “don’t ask me about my business” Godfather-slamming-the-door-in-his-beloved’s-face type moment where it leaves you breathless and devastated. This ain’t that. But what this film is is a great warning about how trying to avoid suffering in your life will always lead you down the wrong path. It’s misguided and a misunderstanding of human flourishing. Yoda knows wassup.
