I'm a big fan of all of Michael Lewis' books about our ridiculous financial system, but even so I was skeptical that this would actually make a good movie. I was absolutely wrong! Lewis' story of the handful of cold-eyed realists who saw the sub-prime mortgage crisis and subsequent meltdown coming is indeed compelling, but not particularly cinematic -- unless you get very, very clever. Which Adam McKay and company most certainly did. Bravo!
