    To the Bone

    ★★½

let me just get it out of the way, that british guy was so annoying, it honestly was hard to watch this film because of how reductive his character was. the forced romance between his character and eli was honestly the downfall of the story in my opinion.

now the film itself is ok. it's not great. my favorite aspect was the way the scenes in the group home were handled. those scenes are what give the film a serious,…

i'm not one of those assholes that judge people for not reading the book first, but i will say reading the book first made my experience watching this film much more immersive and enthralling. i felt like i knew more about the characters than provided in the film. rosamund pike's performance is so impeccably done, hell i even liked ben affleck's performance. this story is so intricate and sharp and i'm so glad it landed in the hands of david fincher. this story is, dare i say..... the definition of "she did that". 5 girls that are gone out of 5.

I came out of this film crying of both happiness and sadness. I think that's this film's strongest aspect,…

I have now witnessed a female lead, female directed superhero film. As I sat in the theatre I saw women of all ages, little girls, wide-eyed with excitement, and daughters with their mothers. They were witnessing it too. It truly brought tears to my eyes.…
