Almost forgot to log this!!! It was my first time back in theaters since Feb of 2020. Very exciting

It was great to see this again; it's been so long since I last watched it and forgot how much I loved it.

That said, forgot what it is like to see a movie at the theater -- in particular at the Music Box, where every old movie is treated like Rocky Horror or the Room.

I liked it. It was kind of funny. That one actress who played Pete Davidson's coworker at the restaurant was not very good but I appreciated her joke about nepotism

  • The Five-Year Engagement

    The Five-Year Engagement

    ★★

Pretty decent? I guess? but in that sort of budding sadness sort of way, where a bunch of comedic actors got together and thought that in order to be serious it has to be a little depressing the whole time

  • Sex and the City 2

    Sex and the City 2

    ½

Technically a better movie than Sex and the City (1) but definitely more offensive. Obligatory 1/2 star

Special mention to the one very good joke where Anthony says he gets to cheat on Stanford and someone says "because you're gay?" and he says "no, because I'm Italian"

The characters were absolutely not fleshed out enough, especially Edward Norton's character. I had made the comment that it seemed like this was a pretty new director who had everything they needed to make a good film but didn't know how to put the parts together, and that's when I found out Edward Norton had directed it.

  • 27 Dresses

    27 Dresses

    ★★½

no one has 27 close friends that literally isn't real. why didn't she just plan weddings? why did she like that one guy in the first place? he was crusty and boring. James Marsden is hot and she didn't appreciate him. One takeaway I do have is that I am someone who swears by a written agenda and if a man wrote his name in on Saturdays -- it would be romantic, yes, but he would not make it to the next Saturday

  • Sex and the City

    ★½

I actually do have a lot of thoughts about this film/how it departed greatly from the series and how that affects the characters but all I'll say here is that this entire movie is just people talking on the phone
