Kyle: I have to admit that I've never liked any of the Ant-Man movies. Paul Rudd is charming and helps elevate a lot of the material. But the adventures are boring. In this film it feels like there are three different plot threads that never really come together, and none of them are explored effectively. Still the comedy mostly works. [Rating: 2.5 out of 5.]

Dave: I think the comedy really works. Michael…

Kyle: I know it makes me basic, but I like watching this movie. The cracks in the Marvel formula were beginning to show but I still find a lot of enjoyment in this. It never lets its foot off the gas, while also giving a lot of exposition. Ultimately it's also about a really strong philosophical question so it even feels deeper than most superhero fare. Totally rewatchable. [Rating: 4 out of 5.]…

Kyle: I loved this! The tone and humour both worked for me. It's filled with scene stealing supporting characters. I'll rewatch this again and again. [Rating: 4.5 out of 5.]

Dave: I'm a wet blanket and don't enjoy having fun. I haven't laughed in two decades so I felt this movie was a threat. Also there's too much pink. (Kyle has paraphrased what he remembers Dave saying.) [Rating: 3 out of 5.]

Kyle: A wonderful film that shows why Charlie Chaplin is considered a master. But, understandably, you can kind of see the seams in this 90 year old movie.

Dave: I really liked this too. It's grand in scope, it's funny, and it's moving. But nobody, outside of film students and movie nerds, is going to sit down and watch this.
