Ali Wong and Randall Park have incredible chemistry, and that is part of the reason why this film works, despite its script's faults. I also love Keanu Reeve's part. I wish we had more Keanu.
Still, the script is very conventional and clichéd. It hits all of the marks you would expect and doesn't hold many surprises for folks who have seen a couple of other rom-coms.
Always Be My Maybe is a lot of fun, though, even with these faults.
