Keith LaFountaine’s review published on Letterboxd:
directed by BETTY THOMAS
I loved this film as a kid. It was probably one of my favorites, and what introduced me to Eddy Murphy. On a rewatch as an adult, it doesn't hold up. The comedy feels very force, and Murphy is oddly understated in his performance.
There are some moments of genuine heart toward the end though, and the film is relatively enjoyable even with its faults.
