There are 10-20 minute stretches of this film where I'm like "I'm so glad writing and acting have dramatically improved since 1986."
But then the Top Gun theme song starts rocking and I turn into Morty:
"You son of a bitch, I'm in."

Hey guys, Disney+ really wants you to know The Simpsons are on Disney+.
But seriously, I loved this. It was so meta and fun and imaginative, and honestly, quite dark, hitting on some deep issues with humanity like drug addiction and human trafficking.
When some folks said this was better than Roger Rabbit, I was like p'shawww, c'mon man, but…
I was kinda into this in the first half. It's not a comedy classic or anything but I was chuckling and I like Rebel Wilson.
But the 2nd half got waaaaaay too melodramatic. There were too many non-ironic crying scenes for a movie that has a 40-year-old dressed as a cheerleader on the poster.
I'm not a huge documentary fan, but I wanted to check this out. I think Mr. Miyagi is one of the greatest characters in the history of film.
From a film-making perspective, More Than Miyagi is an adequate film hitting notes of nostalgia but also covering Norita's alcohol addiction. The absence of Norita's daughters was GLARINGLY OBVIOUS and not mentioned outside a quick text that they declined to be interviewed.
TLDR: Not the greatest documentary, but good for some 80s nostalgia.
