    Safety Last!

I just couldn't make myself care for The Boy. He got into most of these funny and absurd situations because of his own vanity and tomfoolery, and he didn't really care who got drawn into it with him. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's comedy, but this particular type of it is just not my thing.
However, if you've worked in retail or just with people, you'll find lots of hilarious moments that might ease your pain a bit %))

It's probably a bit incomprehensible if you haven't read Gogol's stories, so I highly recommend doing that first.

    The Man Who Surprised Everyone

    ★★

This film didn't have enough to say, so it kept losing points in my mind because of all the long, meaningless pauses and scenes that didn't add anything to the story but for the sense of hopelessness that's so usual in Russian films.

The first half tried to showcase some of the problems in our society, but did it rather tamely; the second one was more interesting, acting as a sort of experiment: what would happen if you put a red rag in front of a bull. The outcome is, sadly, pretty obvious.

I truly think this film would have made a wonderful short though.
