I was told this is where you go for movie buffs and dorks like me.
What a mess! Definitely a step down from the 2018 film. The biggest issues I have here are the structure of the film and some of the acting. I’m not sure if it’s the acting or the line delivery? It just felt off. The structure and pacing of the film is all over the place. Not that’s it’s hard to follow. But a lot of the structure in which the movie plays out definitely left me scratching my head. BUT……
Between the forgettable score. The mediocre action sequences. Awful CGI. A villain that’s absolutely garbage. Shitty editing. And boring cinematography. This was amateur hour. Scarlett Johansson is always great. Florence Pugh is the best thing here. It’s clear this movie isn’t out of this amazing need to tell a special Black Widow story, that was yearning to told. It’s all corporate speak. It’s to get you to go over to Disney+ and stay tuned for the next thing. All these…
Zendaya is definitely walking away with a couple of Oscar nominations. And I'm 90% sure she will win for best actress. Denzel's son is great as well. Been a fan of him since 2018's BlacKkKlansman. While I enjoyed the movie... all the fighting and arguing seems so unrealistic to me. There are certainly people who LOVE to argue so maybe on second thought this is realistic. But watching constant bickering did become a bit exhausting.
Lastly: Zendaya is too damn talented and so wasted in those two mediocre Spider-Man films. Give her some real material to work with, or piss off Marvel.
