Possessor ★★★★

Identity is a transitory nature. We typically like to think of ourselves as having fixed identities that are consistent with our behavior. But what happens when our behavior betrays identity. Is the me that gets angry, or cruel, or impatient really the "me" I have conceptualized for myself. And if it isn't me, then who the fuck is it.

Brandon Cronenberg's body horror killer for hire thriller is all about these ideas. Delightfully strange and bloody, Possessor is a film about ceeding identity and the way that doing so creates rifts between one's self-identity and one's body. Heady stuff.

There is so much to love here. The performances are spot on and the color pallet and visual aesthetic are a delight.
