Shaffir has always been a provocateur. Sometimes I like it, other times not. To be honest, I never really thought his persona would align with the culture in the same way his peers did. After taking a few minutes to feel out the vibe and build some momentum, this essentially becomes a greatest hits of what must be hours of well-honed, working-comedian stagecraft, and deserves to be renowned as one of the top-tier YouTube specials of recent years.
at first i thought NOTHING could be scarier than the experience of this movie playing in a theater, but that was before i’d heard a chorus of bored girlfriends asking their boyfriends “so what did you think????” the very SECOND the house lights came back up when it ended
