Patrick Delmore’s review published on Letterboxd:
Really fun movie that will hopefully spark some sequels. Millie Bobby Brown is having a blast as ‘Enola Holmes’. Henry Cavil gives a good performance as Holmes, if he can’t be Superman, let him be this. Sam Claflin gives a new take on Mycroft, an active member of society not the fat man of the Diogenes club, though the club is present. No Watson, yet, but, Adeel Akhtar makes a grand Lestrade. It’s modern character actor theater with Fiona Shaw, Frances de la Tour and the awesome Susan Wokoma, who I last watched in ‘Year of the Rabbit’. ‘Enola Holmes’ can sit beside ‘Young Sherlock Holmes’ and the Robert Downey Jr. films as a slice of great Holmsian fun.
