Let Me In ★★½

I spent a lot of the runtime wondering about the point of this remake. I was leaning towards benefit-of-the-doubt, despite the shot-for-shot nature of much of it, but it lost any good will I had accumulated when I watched the making of extra, and the director studiously ignored the existence of the original film, and had the audacity to pretend they were adapting the novel, instead of slavishly duplicating 2008 Swedish film.

Also, no cat scene.
