Kerry Maxwell’s review published on Letterboxd:
“It would be a big, big lesson for humanity if you could finish with your ego and show your asshole!” — Jadorowsky to George Harrison, shortly before firing him for refusing to show his asshole.
Endured more than watched. Alas, there's little room in my life for two hours of relentlessly absurdist, animal-cruelty laced, cricket-bat symbolism. I grew up in a hippy commune just outside of Harvard Square in the era that this film was made, which put me off this spiritual awakening, Carlos Castaneda, Tarot / Zodiac horseshit. I may come back to it after I've proceeded with my plan to watch El Topo and Santa Sangre, and it's quite possible I'll be more appreciative.
